Countdown to Practice: 39 DaysOkay folks with only 39 Days to the start of Basketball Practice there are going to be a few new faces along the sidelines in AA County this season! At last count there are (4) new Head Coaches in the County and one Old Coach heading a New School (Crofton). That's right, there will now be 13 Varsity Programs in Anne Arundel County.  Here are the new Coaches: Henry Fuller (Old Mill)
Mike Parker (Northeast)*
S. Porter (Glen Burnie)
Cierra Lucas (North County)
Jonathan Mason (Crofton)*** Coach Parker was the former Northeast Coach and is returning to that position after a 3-4 year absence.
** Coach Mason is the former Glen Burnie Coach who assumed the role at Crofton when it came on line, this will be their first season with a full Varsity Schedule.Welcome to the Wars Coaches!!!   Jonathan Mason Head Coach Crofton High School

So far so good in the County as far as initial days of Tryouts!! There are some issues at Meade as it relates to Tryouts and we are trying to get some clarity. As soon as we do we will let you know! Tomorrow is "Cut Day" so I will be back to you with updates! I have some scrimmage schedules and will Post as many as I can! |

Scrimmage Update: Arundel will be at the River Hill Mix Up on November 27th!! I am sure a few others will be there as well!! |

Justme27 I sent an email to the Meade AD today asking that same question, hope to have an answer for you before the night is over!!
Word on the streets Aanika O’Connor is the coach for Meade again. |

Word on the streets Aanika O’Connor is the coach for Meade again. Justme27 I never received any response from the AD, but I received the same word ! Yesterday I understand that Coach Jermaine was at the Tryout, and Coach Aanika did appear and announce that she would be the Coach, but again, nothing official. Personally at this point I don't really care who the Coach is as long as they have a Coach. It is my understanding that initial Tryouts were conducted by the AD or some other people. This was clearly a disruptive situation and could possibly have effected who came out and how the final team is/was selected. There are some talented Players on that team....they deserve better than this! It appears the wows of Mustang Nation continue for another Season!  |
