Okay here goes....my Pre-Season assessment of AA County Public Schools. Those folks who have followed us for the last several years know that I normally break the County into three Tiers.....Top, Middle and Bottom....with four teams in each Tier! So with that in mind lets start with my Bottom Tier (in no specific order)!:
Severna Park - SP will be in a rebuilding status this year after making it to the Regional Finals last year. Jessica Giblin could be the difference maker for the Lady Falcons this season, but she will need the injured Rachel Ward to come back as soon as possible if SP is to have any chance of moving into the Middle Tier!
Northeast - I hate to put Northeast in the bottom Tier primarily because I think they are going to hurt some peoples feelings this year. Coach Parker is building his program slowly and only needs one or two more pieces in order to break out this season. I love his "Killer Bee" back court of Wills and Nalley.....and trust me if you go to sleep on them they will hurt you. If they were not in the Northern Division I truly believe they would fare much better.
North County - This could have been a break out year for North County and then the unthinkable happened....CJ Hammer breaks a bone in her foot and is lost for the Season! This leaves Jazz Scott to shoulder the full offensive load for the Knights. She will have some moderate help from Shafer and a few others....but it will be an up hill battle for North County.
Annapolis - Coach Lee Williams in his first year leading the Panthers has gotten off to a slow start due to no fault of his own. Missing out on a chance to play Summer or Fall League this year Annapolis will be in full rebuilding mode with the graduation of the "Deadly Duo". But knowing the area the way I do....there is always some talent hiding out at the Boys and Girls Club....so its just a matter of time before Annapolis will be competitive again!
Alright....that is my bottom tier assessment for AA County! Next up....the Middle Tier!
