The Games have begun in AA County!!
Let me start by saying that this will be the first time in almost two decades that I have started a Bball Season in AA County without at least one call to Johnny Mack, former President of the Maryland Shooting Stars! Johnny was a force in AA County Girls Basketball and he will truly be missed....RIP my Brother!!
On Monday things got underway with (5) games:
Arundel lost to River Hill 55-15!
North County lost to Hammond 58-5!
Crofton over Long Reach 50-32: It was a good opening performance for the Cardinals as Shafer, Carmichael and Maher performed well! Freshman Skye Matthews as a pleasing addition to the "Three Amigos"!
Chesapeake over St. Paul 52-28: The Cougars had a good show with Slade putting up a Double/Double (12/13) and Freshman Ava Arruda adding 14 points!
Glen Burnie over Concordia 67-62: The Gophers opened their repeat season with a solid win over Concordia. Porter was her usual self scoring both inside and outside, but GB also got good performances from Nick, Cassidy Wilkerson and Soumoro! Sophomore Trinity Munford and her sister Freshman Starr Munford also provided solid help off the bench!
Tuesday we had (1) game:
Southern over Great Mills 66-46: Ava Wooster started her Junior Season with a solid Double/Double (25/13). She received great help from Katelyn Seymour who also had a D/D (18/10) It was a good all around team effort from the Dawgs!
Tonight there are (4) games listed:
Broadneck v St. Mary's
Norheast v Indian Creek
Crofton v Patterson Mill
Severna Park v Milford Mill
I will try to cover Broadneck and Northeast live....then catch Crofton and Severna Park on tape!
Quick shout out to Southern and Glen Burnie for ensuring that you Clock App for the NFHS Network was working! It's a great help!!
