Okay folks, with weather putting a delay on Tryouts....they finally got underway on Friday! Although I was not able to make it out to any of the tryouts....all indications are that things went well in the County and there are some scrimmages scheduled for this coming week! But before we get into that its necessary to discuss some of the changes that took place in the County during the off Season! Coaching Changes:Coach Nalley is now the Coach at Northeast Coach Mason is now the Coach at Glen Burnie Player Transfers:Imani Parker - Old Mill Jasmine Valentine - Old Mill Jamaica Williams - Meade Excelleant Greer - Meade Khali Turner - Broadneck We of course wish all of the New Coaches good luck and the best of wishes to the Young Ladies who have moved on!!!! Next: Pre Season Standings

Okay, with at least one day of Tryouts under their belts I think I can safely go out on a limb and give some Preseason Predictions!!! Now keep in mind that this year I have not seen any team practices and was not as active getting around for Summer and Fall League games, so please excuse me If I miss a few early....but here goes my Team Standings for 2018-2019! As normal I will break the 12 County Public Schools into Three Tiers.....Top, Middle and Lower! Let's start with the Lower Tier Teams for 2018-19: Lower Tier (in no specific Order):Annapolis - Coach Williams and crew are working real hard over there to change the Culture, and I believe they are having great success. Adding Maya Butler Annapolis Alumni to the Coaching Staff is a great plus. They have some promising incoming players and if their returning players continue to grow, then Annapolis is going to surprise some people this year! Northeast - Coach Nalley in his first year will still have the talents of Wills and Nalley (both juniors this year) to provide some stability. The "Killer Bees" will need to remain as aggressive as they have been over the last several years as "Height" will once again be their drawback!! Southern - Coach "D" lost a big piece when Fitzwaters transferred over the summer, but the Dawgs will once again come at teams with a complete "Blue Collar" approach! Over the last several years they have made it hard to come into the "Pound" and walk out with a victory, and I feel no reason to believe that things will be different this year! Glen Burnie - Coach Mason will be returning to the fight in AA County as the New Coach for the Bruins! The Former Meade High School Coach has been away for a few years but will be inheriting a young team with at least one "Impact Player" in point guard Jaya Dews. I will give the Bruins at least until January before I make any final judgement's on them, but in the meantime welcome back Coach Mason! Well there you have it, next up we will look at some of the key players to look for this season!

Okay, there were some very good scrimmages scheduled today at Oakland Mills! I was halfway there and received a call that required me to turn around! Hopefully South River and Oakland Mills had a good outing and I will plan to see them both some time before the season opens! I will be checking for other scrimmages and will Post them as I here them.....in the meantime, I hope everyone has a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!!!!
